Back-Dealings: Rig the Game

BACK-DEALINGS: RIG THE GAME is a physical game of corporate espionage exploring gamifying the act of rigging a game of poker.

It focuses on creating asymmetric pairs of players, with one player in the pair focusing on playing a game of Texas Hold ‘Em Poker. The other player in the pair plays a strategy game layered on top of the poker game only tangible to this player which allows them to affect the poker game and rig it in the favour of their teammate. 

The core focus of the project is in keeping the core ruleset of Texas Hold ‘Em Poker as intact as possible while developing a secondary card game on top that facilitates pairing each poker player with a second player focused on this strategy-oriented game. 

The game then becomes about co-operating in a pair with your partner without opposing pairs of players catching on, and using this strategy element to change previously unchangeable elements of the poker game in your favour while your opponents work to do the same.
